Are you looking for outstanding training in public speaking for lawyers?
We provide online coaching, books, and videos. Or, your firm or law department can get in touch with us about any of the programs listed below.
Speak Well as You Think on Your Feet for All Practice Areas
Get your nose out of your notes, look your listeners in the eye, and be what you’ve always wanted to be: the articulate attorney. Becoming more fluent on your feet is the focus of this program, and we invite you to join us and just nine other transactional lawyers for two full days devoted to polishing your personal presentation style. We draw on cutting-edge discoveries in linguistics, neuroscience, and sports psychology to give you the confidence you need to speak to any group of any size.
This course begins with a 60- or 90-minute lecture, an advanced examination of public speaking techniques. Then, individuals may sign up for 45-minute one-on-one coachings with video review. Lawyers work on issues currently in their workload with either Brian Johnson or Marsha Hunter. No advance preparation required.
Interpersonal Communication Skills for New Lawyers
This program provides the fundamentals of professional speaking for younger associates. This is not a public speaking program, but rather a technique to apply the polish and precision of public speaking to the challenge of professional conversation. It provides new lawyers with the skills they need to report to practice groups and more senior lawyers. The course includes techniques to banish that accent of adolescence – um, like, you know – and the immature uptick of the questioning inflection that should be eliminated in a professional setting. We begin with a 60-minute lecture, followed by 30-minute one-on-one coachings or small group workshops.
Just-in-Time Online Video Coaching
This economical alternative to bringing a consultant to your offices offers an ideal way to help lawyers who have an important presentation in the near future. You can polish your presentation with one-on-one coaching with Brian Johnson or Marsha Hunter, making immediate improvements to your presentation as you stand in your own office or conference room.
Online coaching is also effective for attorneys who wish to polish speaking skills over several months of one-on-one work. The goal is to improve fluency, eloquence, and confidence in every setting. Coachings build upon lawyers’ real-life experience; using issues and presentations from their current workload, they will get on their feet and push their speaking skills to the next level.
Our password-protected videos are designed for law firm clients and practicing attorneys who desire access to an in-depth video library of lectures and instructional presentations to view at their convenience. If you are interested in access to these materials, contact us.
If you are a newer lawyer who doesn’t appear in court yet, our Professional Speaking Video Series is for you. By polishing the speaking skills you use every day, you will be well on your way to being an effective communicator, and that will pay huge dividends.
